As part of our feature series on the LaunchPad Presenting Companies of the Aesthetics Technology Summit, we recently talked to CEO of Dominion Aesthetic Technologies, Janet Campbell. Hear more about Dominion’s innovations in lasers/medical devices, and their plans for the future at ATS 2020.

What does Dominion Aesthetics Technologies do? 

Dominion is a company focused on the invention, development, manufacturing and commercialization of innovative medical devices in the field of body contouring using laser based technologies.

How did you start and what drove you to create Dominion Aesthetic Technologies?

I founded Dominion to address unmet needs I observed in the field of aesthetics. I wanted to offer physicians and their patients better devices for aesthetic treatment. The idea for this began when I observed women in one of my clinical trials not returning for call backs of suspicious lesions- it sparked the idea of playing to their vanity. Although I could not execute that idea as a reality for a cancer diagnostic device, it initiated a new interest for me to investigate the aesthetic market.

How do you see your company being part of the medical Aesthetics industry in the future?  

I believe Dominion can be a significant contributor to the aesthetic industry by always striving to offer innovation, improved methods and solutions for the user and their patients- with efficacy, safety and beauty to reflect the industry in which we participate.

How did you get involved with LaunchPad and OCTANe?

I learned about OCTANe and LaunchPad from an introduction from Dr. Barry DiBernardo and a subsequent call from Tom Albright, a member of the committee. Dr. DiBernardo was presenting Dominion at a medical conference and Tom approached him afterwards to learn more about Dominion.  The experience with OCTANe and LaunchPad has  been a wonderful opportunity to interface with incredibly talented individuals. All of my team and I have been so impressed.

What opportunities excite you the most about presenting at ATS 2020?

As my team and I understand we will have an opportunity to present Dominion to a global group of the aesthetic investment community. We have attended other investment conferences but none have been focused specifically on our industry sector.  To meet and present to a large number of interested investors all focused in aesthetics is truly a unique and exciting opportunity.
