Octane Announces the Appointment of Seven New Board Members

Octane recently announced the appointment of seven to the board of directors. “We look forward to 2023 where we can continue to support startups and entrepreneurs in the fields of ophthalmology, medtech, and aesthetic medicine, among other sectors, and expand into two new verticals with Haystax and healthsocal.ai,” said Janelle Brunette, COO of Octane. “Our Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders committed to building the SoCal of tomorrow by helping us connect people, resources, and capital to fuel technology growth here in Southern California.”

Laurent Attias, SVP Business Development, Alcon

Laurent Attias is a member of the Executive Committee of Alcon (ECA). In his role as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Mr. Attias leads the cooperate development strategy for Alcon which includes all Business Development and Licensing (BD&L), Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activities.

Akin Ceylan, COO, Home Entertainment & Global Content Delivery, Lionsgate Entertainment

Akin Ceylan has spent the last 27 years in the Entertainment industry and is currently the COO of Home Entertainment and Global Content Delivery for Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B). Akin joined Lionsgate in October 2005 and sets the strategic direction and architect design for Operations in Home Entertainment. Akin is responsible for the global delivery of commercialized feature film and television content to theatres and all platforms that is backed by a 17,000+ title library. Akin oversees all activities related to technical operations, inventory, manufacturing, and distribution for theatrical, digital, and physical media content, system development, supplier partner agreements & relationships, operational P&L, and operational governance – all with an emphasis on revenue maximization & cost efficiency, collaboration & execution, and service & performance optimization.

Andrew Guarni, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Hoag

Andrew Guarni is a Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Hoag. In this role, Mr. Guarni oversees all hospital accounting, including general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and treasury for Hoag. He is responsible for the finance and accounting, supply chain, materials management, revenue cycle, risk management, health information management, and contracting.

Michael Hedge, Managing Partner, Orange County Office, K&L Gates 

Michael A. Hedge is a partner in the firm’s Orange County office. His practice focuses on capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, corporate governance, and commercial transactions. Michael regularly provides legal advice to some of the leading emerging growth companies in Southern California, particularly in the life sciences and technology industries, during all stages of their corporate life cycle where he has gained vast experience in counseling entrepreneurs on the successful growth and development of their business.

The Advanced Energy business supports surgeons with tools designed to minimize scarring and blood loss. 

Kamakshi Zeidler, Founder and Managing Partner, Aesthetx
