Wearables for Monitoring and Managing Cancer Treatment Adverse Events
Advanced wearables with embedded sensors can track in real-time specific biomarkers and physiological indicators to provide insights into a patient’s physical and emotional state, allowing for earlier and timely interventions. They empower patients by giving them more control and understanding of their condition and how different activities, medications, or therapies affect their physical pain and mental health. Consistently monitoring symptoms allows patients to engage in more informed discussions with their healthcare providers. The result is personalized and effective treatment plans. Wearables tailored specifically for cancer patients could provide more targeted monitoring and management of cancer-related side effects.
Join Hoag’s panel of physician thought leaders and two early-stage, innovative companies to highlight examples of wearable monitoring and neuromodulation devices focused on measuring or treating chemo-induced pain and stress/anxiety in patients from cancer treatment side effects. The panel will address the role of these remote, non-invasive, digital health devices in appropriate management of cancer adverse events, and the overall improvement in patient health, wellness, holistic care experience, quality-of-life, as well as potential savings in healthcare costs.
