Solving the Starving Artist Syndrome- From LaunchPad Alumni, Trubify

Most musicians cannot make a living making music. Trubify – winner of Octane LaunchPad’s People’s Choice Award at the 2020 Technology Innovation Forum – is on a mission to change that by helping to solve ‘starving artist syndrome’.

Trubify is a disruptive live music streaming technology platform that also manages the business demands of artists. The app provides á la carte revenue streams that are embedded within deep fan engagement features. The simple, fun and free mobile app closes the gap between artists, fans and brands. Trubify’s minimum viable product is commercially available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Unique differentiators include an innovative AI/ML influencer marketing technology. Business intelligence drives proprietary automated matchmaking technology to link Trubify’s top brand partners with great artists, regardless of their following size. Trubify also obtains all cover song licenses and automatically manages royalty payments on behalf of artists on Trubify; this means that (unlike YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, or Facebook) artists can finally monetize cover song performances.

Many of Trubify’s notable accomplishments would not have been possible without the help of JC Ruffalo & the Octane LaunchPad team. They worked hard with us to expertly refine our pitch materials and presentation. Octane LaunchPad’s startup accelerator program is intense, comprehensive, but most of all – fun! We left every session with loads of constructive feedback, greater visibility into blindspots, and inspiration to keep pushing along.

Next came tremendous help from Paul Tobin & the Octane Enterprise Solutions team. OES has helped us build our network, introducing us to several investors and VC groups, and has created other strategic connections for Trubify as well. The OES team took the time to get to know our business and assess strategic connections from their vast network of investors, entrepreneurs and service providers to team us up with the right partnerships. For example, OES was instrumental in steering us to good partners/providers for HR and other third-party services.

If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a huge network to raise a unicorn. I cannot imagine any startup succeeding without an extensive team of advisors, liaisons, and seasoned entrepreneurs – and this is exactly what we receive from OES.

A very special THANK YOU to Paul, Carol, Cara, and Deb for all the momentum you’ve added to Trubify.

Trubify closed a $1mm angel round this month and is expected to close their $3mm seed round next month. For more info, please watch Trubify’s Award-Winning Pitch from Octane’s 2020 Technology Innovation Forum.
